CIGNA HEALTHCARE PRESIDENT ELECTED TO CBIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Cordani is president of CIGNA HealthCare, in Bloomfield. He is one of 14 new members elected to the CBIA board, who will begin their terms Dec. 1. CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs. Cordani was named president in July 2005. He previously served as president of health segments of the company of CIGNA HealthCare and was responsible for the company's strategy, distribution, product development, marketing and underwriting for all customer segments. Cordani held a number of other positions with CIGNA, including senior vice president, CFO and controller. Prior to joining CIGNA, he was with Coopers & Lybrand. He serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Manufacturers and the CIGNA Foundation. Cordani has a B.S. from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Hartford. He is also a chartered financial consultant and a C.P.A. He lives in Simsbury with his wife, Sherry, and their two children, Caroline and Nicholas. ###
