KAMCO PRESIDENT ELECTED TO CBIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS


The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) elected Jay B. Sheehy to a four-year term on its board of directors at its Oct. 25 Annual Meeting.

Sheehy is president of Kamco Supply Corp. of New England, which is based in Wallingford. He is one of 14 new members elected to the CBIA board, who will begin their terms Dec. 1.

CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies throughout Connecticut. The board of directors approves the organization’s plans, policies and strategies, and particularly focuses on ways to make Connecticut a better place to do business and create jobs.

Sheehy has owned private corporations for the past 22 years. He purchased Stanley Svea Building Supply in1984 and became principal of Kamco in 1995. He began his career and worked for more than a decade in finance and corporate planning positions at major companies, including Connecticut Bank & Trust, Combustion Engineering, Raymark Industries and PepsiCo.

Sheehy, a C.P.A., earned his B.S. in accounting from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Penn., and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Connecticut.

He lives in Stratford with his wife, Terri, and their two sons, Adam and Austin.
