Vanguard Schools Conference and Celebration The schools being recognized are:
The Connecticut Vanguard Schools Initiative is a public/private partnership among the Connecticut Department of Education, the State Education Resource Center and the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) Education Foundation. The program identifies and recognizes schools that have demonstrated success in improving educational performance. The Vanguard Schools then share their successful strategies and best practices with other school districts to help them replicate these effective programs. Besides the recognition ceremony, the conference includes workshops on a number of topics and best practices, including:
The conference is sponsored by the Connecticut State Department of Education and the State Education Resource Center in collaboration with CBIA, Bank of America, McCarter & English, and The United Illuminating Co.
