Registration: 8 a.m.
Program: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Northwest Connecticut's Chamber of Commerce, 333 Kennedy Drive, Torrington
It’s state law: If you employ 50 or more people, your company must provide training for managers and supervisors so that they can understand, recognize, prevent, and address sexual harassment. You are required to provide this training within six months of the employee taking on supervisory responsibilities.
We’ll teach your supervisors:
How Connecticut and federal laws define sexual harassment
The hidden traps — where supervisors and managers can go wrong
Steps to take when problems arise
What a good policy should include and how to use it to protect your company and your employees
How not taking action in certain situations can cost you and your company
Special topics such as the reasonable victim standard, same-sex harassment, and off-the-job behavior will also be covered. The course will touch on corporate and individual liability for workplace harassment, and potential damages that can be assessed.
Each attendee will receive a certificate of completion, attesting to compliance with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) training mandate.
Onsite training available
We know it’s often hard to let employees attend off-site training. That’s why CBIA can conduct two of our programs, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Supervisors and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Employees, right at your workplace. With our on-site and custom training, you’ll get expert instruction from CBIA’s professional trainers, who are leaders not only in their respective fields but also in the art of teaching and motivating.
CBIA has trained thousands of supervisors and employees from companies all across the country. Let us show your employees how to stop sexual harassment before it gets started in your company. Also, if you have five to 10 employees who need to be trained, we may be able to save you money by combining an on-site training session with another company.
Call Mark Soycher at 860-244-1138 or e-mail him at mark.soycher@cbia.com for more information about our on-site and custom training programs.
Cost per person:
CBIA member companies: $125
Nonmember companies: $195
