Special Expanded Meeting 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Join us for an extended meeting to discuss:

The troubled employee and the HR manager

As an HR manager, you're not a trained mental health professional, but you are often required to address the troubling behavior of employees. This session will examine the steps an HR professional can take to deal with the behaviors of an employee who could be on the verge of losing control.
Jeff Zimmerman, president, Beacon Behavioral Health

The Department of Homeland Security: The controversial “no match” letter rule returns

Under this new rule, employers who fail to fire workers unable or unwilling to resolve Social Security information discrepancies will face liability for employing workers without properly documented legal work status. A supplemental proposed rule was published in March, which means it could impact employers this month.

Joshua Mirer and Natalia Sharubina of Robinson & Cole LLP will join us for a one-hour discussion on employer responsibility regarding workforce identity and employment authorization issues. We'll cover the steps you should take to develop a policy that’s in line with the current law.

Register here. Or contact Lise Cliche at 860-244-1977 or registrar@cbia.com.

Cost per person: OPEN TO CBIA MEMBERS ONLY - $45 for the entire series. Please include 6% sales tax.
