Mandates that all businesses, regardless of industry, provide paid sick leave to employees beginning Oct. 1, 2023. The employees will accrue one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked. The bill allows employees to use the paid sick leave on their 100th day of employment.

SB 13 an act incentivizing student loan repayment assistance

Status: Awaiting Action (Senate)

Extends the student loan repayment assistance tax credit to employer-supported repayment of all student loans. The credit program offers employers who make a direct payment to a student loan servicer on behalf of a qualified employee a 50% tax credit for the amount of the payments. Under existing statute, only student loans serviced by the Connecticut Higher Education Student Loan Authority were eligible for the credit.
