Beatriz Gutierrez leads the creation and implementation of the strategic plan for CBIA affiliate CONNSTEP and advances the organization’s goals.

She applies her extensive knowledge and talent guiding the execution of industry best practices to improve the competitiveness and innovativeness of Connecticut’s manufacturing community.

Gutierrez works closely with the organization’s board of directors to fulfill the company’s mission and vision and advocates for manufacturers on a state and national governmental level.

An accomplished business and economic development executive with more than 30 years experience, she has a vast area of expertise including executive management, strategic planning, and continuous process improvement.

Her background includes serving as executive director of business development for the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development; as an adjunct professor at Central Connecticut State University; in managerial roles at various manufacturers including General Electric and Rockwell Automation; as well as leading her own consulting firm.

Gutierrez is a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional—National Development Council and has served on a number of boards, including the Connecticut Manufacturing Investment Fund, Connecticut Bioscience Innovation Fund, Connecticut Technology Talent Fund, CCSU Advisory Board, and MakerSpaceCT. She is an INROADS alumna and is fluent in Spanish.

Gutierrez holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Marquette University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
