The Connecticut Business & Industry Association is the voice of business in Connecticut, with thousands of member companies championing change at the State Capitol, shaping debate about economic competitiveness, and fighting for a better future for all.
Eric Brown is vice president for manufacturing policy and outreach at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association. He is also the liaison on policy and business matters between CBIA and its CONNSTEP affiliate.
His primary responsibilities include developing policy positions on manufacturing-related issues and advocating before regulatory agencies and the state legislature.
Brown is also a seasoned policy and political expert on energy and environmental matters and works directly with legislative and administrative leaders, as well as CBIA members on those issues.
He also leads the CBIA/CONNSTEP Manufacturing Network, comprised of all CBIA manufacturing members and current CONNSTEP manufacturing clients, as well as the Connecticut Manufacturers’ Collaborative—a consortium of the state’s major manufacturing associations. He was instrumental in the creation of both entities.
Before CBIA, he was a senior environmental analyst with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. He also worked at the state legislature as an environmental specialist and is a former teacher and coach.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Rhode Island, a master’s in geophysics from Boston College, and a law degree from Western New England College School of Law.
