The Connecticut Business & Industry Association is the voice of business in Connecticut, with thousands of member companies championing change at the State Capitol, shaping debate about economic competitiveness, and fighting for a better future for all.
John Blair is associate counsel with CBIA, Connecticut’s leading business organization, covering workers’ compensation, banking, energy, and judiciary issues, as well as supporting the rest of CBIA’s advocacy team.
He also directs CBIA’s Business Law and Liability Council and Workers’ Compensation Council. Additionally, he supports CBIA’s Government Affairs and Legal Affairs councils.
Blair has more than 20 years experience at the Connecticut General Assembly, including as a clerk with the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding and Commerce committees. He also served as chief of staff to the Office of Health Strategy for seven years.
Over the past 15 years, Blair represented—through his private law practice—various business and trade organizations, including CBIA, manufacturers, acute care hospitals, and other small businesses.
He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Association of Connecticut Lobbyists.
Blair earned his law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree from Springfield College.
He is the proud father of John Matthew and Rose Grace Blair.
