Michelle Rakebrand is assistant counsel with CBIA, the state’s leading business organization.
She represents the business community on insurance, public health, and education issues.
Rakebrand previously served as counsel to the D.C. and district offices of Congressman Glenn Thompson. In her role, she advised his office on numerous matters including education, workforce, healthcare, and tax issues.
Prior to her work in D.C., Rakebrand worked as a legislative attorney in the General Assembly’s nonpartisan legal office.
In that position, she provided legal counsel to the members of the General Assembly’s Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee, drafting all legislation and amendments considered by the committee.
Rakebrand graduated from Pace University School of Law. She earned a bachelor’s degree in politics from Fairfield University.
