There’s a new buzz in Tolland.

Lectra, a Paris-based technology company, officially reopened a manufacturing facility in the town in April.

“A big part of our strategy is focused on manufacturing in-house and across our main regions,” Lectra CEO Daniel Harari [pictured above] said.

“The opening of our Tolland manufacturing facility will enable us to better control production.”

In-House Production

The building housed manufacturing operations in the past. In 2018, then Gerber Scientific, made the decision to outsource manufacturing to Massachusetts.

As the company works to improve quality and customer satisfaction, executives said they want to manufacture each aspect of their products.

Lectra will now manufacture the complete line of single ply cutters for fashion, furniture, and automotive markets in-house.

“It will also enable us to hire more employees and give back to the communities where we live and work.”

Executives said the investment in inventory and assembly capabilities will reduce lead times by more than 60%.

“It will also enable us to hire more employees and give back to the communities where we live and work,” Harari said.

“As we look to the future, our focus remains on providing best-in-class Industry 4.0 solutions for our customers and further developing our three strategic market sectors.”
