School Finance: Moving Forward

A top-notch education system is critical to the future of Connecticut. An upcoming conference will discuss a key related topic – school finance.   

School Finance: Moving Forward” will be held on Wednesday, October 14, at the Sheraton Hartford South in Rocky Hill. It’s sponsored by The Connecticut Council for Education Reform (CCER) and the Connecticut Association of School Business Officials (CASBO).  CBIA is one of the organizations collaborating in the event. 

The keynote address will be delivered by James E. Ryan, Dean, Harvard Graduate School of Education, an expert on law and education who has written on many topics including school finance. 

This event is geared to those interested in education policy. 

Breakout session topics include: 

·        Communication strategies for school leaders

·        Connecticut  legislative updates

·        Uniform chart of accounts

·        Lessons from school funding analyses   

There will also be a panel discussion on school funding issues in Connecticut.

Other collaborators include Connecticut Association of School Superintendents (CAPSS), Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), ConnCan, and the Connecticut School Finance Project.
