The former deputy general counsel at Yale New Haven Health System has been tapped to lead a growing sector at Shipman & Goodwin LLP.

The law firm announced this week that Marc Lombardi will lead its privacy, cybersecurity, and data innovation practice.

The practice group works with clients on a wide range of concerns, spanning from data management and protection to regulatory compliance and breach responses.

“Marc is a talented lawyer who is adding much more to Shipman than 20 years of legal experience,” Shipman & Goodwin managing partner Leander Dolphin said.

“For clients in every industry sector, there continues to be a critical need for Marc’s counsel and experience addressing emerging technologies, big data, and the associated digital risks.”

Prior to his 11-year tenure with Yale New Haven, Lombardi worked as an associate at Brown Rudnick and general counsel of Triad Healthcare.

He also founded Objective Technology Solutions, an independent software architecture and design firm.
