Bead’s Jill Mayer Named to NSBA Leadership Council
Bead Industries, Inc. CEO Jill Mayer has been named to the National Small Business Association Leadership Council.
NSBA is the nation’s oldest small business advocacy organization and works to promote the interests of small businesses to policymakers in Washington, DC.
That not only includes Congress and the administration, but also state and local government and the media.
“As a small business owner, I see regularly the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation,” Mayer [pictured above] said.
NSBA’s leadership council provides “networking between small-business advocates from across the country while ensuring small business a seat at the table as Congress and regulators take up key small-business proposals.”
Advocating for Small Business
“Joining NSBA’s leadership council will enable me to take our collective small business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress,” Mayer said.
That message includes tax reform, regulatory restraint, healthcare costs, and access to capital for small businesses.
“I am proud to have Jill Mayer as part of our leadership council,” said NSBA president and CEO Todd McCracken.
“She came to us highly recommended, and I look forward to our coordinated efforts for years to come.”
Mayer is a member of CBIA’s board of directors and serves on the executive board of ManufactureCT.
Engaged and Effective
“I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with and getting to know Jill through her work on CBIA’s board,” said CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima.
“She is a highly engaged, effective advocate on critical small business issues and I know she will represent our state well at the national level.”
Mayer is a fifth generation leader at Milford-based Bead Industries, which comprises Bead Chain, Bead Electronics, and McGuire Mfg. Company.
She started at Bead in 2007 as financial controller and was promoted to corporate president in 2014.
Mayer is also a member of Women in Manufacturing‘s executive group and is active with Vistage, a CEO coaching and peer advisory organization for small and midsize business leaders.
In 2019, she was recognized as one of Connecticut Magazine’s 40 Under 40.
