Final Round: Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut
What will be crowned the Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut?
The choice is down to two.
The competition that began in August with 16 incredible Connecticut-made products has reached its final round.
After more than 103,000 votes through the first three rounds, the final matchup features:
Celebrating Manufacturing
The single-elimination, bracket-style competition is being led by the CBIA Foundation in partnership with the Connecticut Office of Manufacturing and CONNSTEP.
The goal of the competition is to celebrate Connecticut’s incredible manufacturing legacy and workforce, and the industry’s importance on the future of the state’s economy.
“I know a lot of people know Connecticut for the aerospace industry and our defense industry,” CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima said during an appearance on WGCH Radio.
“But the fact that we have so many food products made here in Connecticut, beverages made here in Connecticut, lifesaving medical devices made here in Connecticut, it’s really great to showcase some of the variety and the impact that manufacturing is having on our state.”
Final round voting is open through Sept. 27.
The winner will be announced at the Oct. 2 Connecticut Manufacturing Summit at the Connecticut Convention Center.
Annual Competition
A group of business leaders nominated the 16 products in the first year of what will be an annual competition.
The Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut is made possible through the generous support of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP.
“Manufacturing is a significant industry for us, one that we’re really passionate about,” CliftonLarsonAllen principal Brett Bushnell said during a Sept. 19 segment on Fox 61’s morning show.
“When we were given this opportunity to get involved and celebrate Connecticut’s manufacturers, we knew we wanted to be involved.”
Nominations are open now for next year’s contest.
