Each month, we profile a Connecticut small business, showcasing the ingenuity and innovation driving the state’s economy. For December, we spoke with the team at Flexematic, Inc. in Windsor.

When was your company founded?

Our company was founded in January 2023.

How many employees work for your company?

Flexematic currently has seven employees, but our business is growing rapidly, and the number of employees will multiply in the coming years.

We are supported by a robust team of 500 professionals based in Shanghai, China.

Who are your customers?

Flexematic serves a diverse range of customers, including automation distributors, system integrators, and OEMs.

Automation distributors supply our industrial automation products to end-users and integrators, while system integrators specialize in designing and implementing advanced automation systems for factories and industrial facilities.

OEMs, such as machinery and equipment manufacturers, incorporate our components like PLCs, HMIs, and servo drives into their products.

We cater to organizations embracing smart manufacturing and IoT technologies.

In addition, we cater to organizations embracing smart manufacturing and IoT technologies.

These customers leverage our expertise in IoT, edge computing, and cloud solutions to enhance their operational efficiency and competitiveness. Industries we focus on include semiconductors, 3C (computers, communications, consumer electronics), photovoltaic (solar) equipment, lithium battery manufacturing, packaging machinery, HVAC equipment, pump and water control systems, electronic equipment manufacturing, and smart agriculture.

What makes your company unique?

Flexematic stands out as an innovative supplier of industrial automation components and software, seamlessly bridging OT and IT with IoT, edge computing, and digitalization technologies.

Our comprehensive product range, including HMIs, PLCs, Servo Drives, IoT products, SCADA software, and cloud platforms, is complemented by exceptional quality, fast delivery, and competitive pricing.

Why did you choose Connecticut?

We do our business globally, with successful operations in China, India, Turkey, and Europe.

We have learned a great deal about Connecticut’s strong manufacturing environment over the years and see it as a new opportunity for business growth.

What is the greatest advantage to operating in Connecticut?

We believe Connecticut has plenty of resources, especially the abundant resources of engineering graduates from the surrounding universities.

How do you try to give back to your community?

One of the ways we give back is by supporting the future workforce. Alejandro, one of our employees, has established an automation club at the University of Hartford, where we were excited to provide HMI units, PLCs, and other necessary products.

This initiative helps students gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in the automation field.

Additionally, our high-quality, cost-effective, and service-oriented products drive industrial automation, ultimately contributing to greater efficiency and productivity across industries—benefits that ripple out to society.
