As part of its ongoing commitment to reduce the number of workplace falls resulting in serious injuries or death, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) has announced the release of the latest version of its ANSI/ASSE Z359 Fall Protection Code Version 3.0. The ANSI Z359 Fall Protection Committee was chartered in 1988 to develop the first consensus standard, ANSI Z359.1-Safety requirements for personal fall arrest systems, subsystems and components. Though the committee’s standards do not have force of law, they are widely recognized as industry standards by state federal and local governments
