CBIA BizCast: Comcast RISE Offers Opportunity

CBIA’s BizCast team speaks with Paul Savas, vice president of Comcast Business for the western New England region, about what the company is doing to support small businesses. 

Savas said they launched the Comcast RISE initiative in 2020 as part of the company’s $100 million commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The program gives small businesses a technology or marketing makeover for their business. 

“What we wanted to do was show our commitment to help strengthen these businesses,” Savas said. 

Initially the program was dedicated to supporting businesses owned by people of color, but has since expanded to help women business owners too. 

“It has really amplified the number of applications that we have received because there are so many exceptional women entrepreneurs that are out there in the business market.”

Savas said many businesses are also choosing to invest in the technological support Comcast provides because of the increasing cybersecurity concerns.
