Michelle Rakebrand Joins Lobbying Team at CBIA
With years of experience in Washington D.C. and the Connecticut General Assembly, Michelle Rakebrand brings her expertise to a new role as assistant counsel and lobbyist with CBIA.
Rakebrand worked as a legislative attorney in the General Assembly’s nonpartisan legal office during the 2017 legislative session.
“Michelle is a great addition to our team,” said Eric Gjede, CBIA’s vice president of government affairs.
“Her knowledge of Connecticut’s legislative process, and her demonstrated ability to work with both Democrats and Republicans will help our efforts to make Connecticut a better place for business.”
Most recently, Rakebrand served as counsel to a congressional office. In her role, she advised the office on numerous matters including education, workforce, healthcare, and tax issues.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to join a team as respected as CBIA’s and look forward to helping advocate for Connecticut’s business community,” Rakebrand said.
Rakebrand graduated from Pace University School of Law. Prior to her work in Congress and the Connecticut General Assembly, she worked in private practice as an associate attorney.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in politics from Fairfield University.
