Marks first of three annual increases

Connecticut’s minimum wage increases from $8.70 to $9.15 as of Jan. 1, 2015. It then rises to $9.60 Jan. 1, 2016, and $10.10 on Jan. 1, 2017.
Although the state law also specifies that the state minimum wage shall always be the greater of the specified rate or a half percent more than the highest federal minimum wage, the federal minimum wage has been $7.25 since July 24, 2009, with no further federal increases on the horizon.
