E- Verify and three other immigration-related programs have been reauthorized for three years under new legislation (S. 3245) signed by President Obama on September 28.

E-Verify is the federal government’s electronic employment verification system mandatory for federal contractors and some employers in 19 states that require its use. The new law also extends the EB-5 regional center program, the special immigrant nonminister religious worker program, and the Conrad State 30 J-1 visa waiver program.

Set to expire September 30, the four programs have a new expiration date of September 30, 2015.
