The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recently released two mold assessment documents to help users identify and solve mold problems in most types of buildings.

The Dampness and Mold Assessment Tool for General Buildings and Schools provides a hard-copy data collection instrument to help address areas of dampness and mold.

The tool's intent is to help the user:

  • Identify and determine the severity of known and unknown areas of dampness and mold
  • Prioritize repair and remediation
  • Track past and present problems
