Two open houses will be held by Middlesex Community College for prospective manufacturing students.
The first will be held on Wednesday, December 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Middlesex Community College campus in Middletown.
The second open house is scheduled for Wednesday, January 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Wilcox Tech High School in Meriden.
The open houses will feature a presentation of MxCC’s manufacturing program, designed to help students develop entry-level skills or to upgrade existing skills. Students can earn a manufacturing technology certificate or associate degree.
“Job opportunities at Connecticut’s manufacturers are a bright spot in the economy because of increases in both new hiring and retirements,” said Hubert Godin, MxCC’s manufacturing program coordinator.
“Our program prepares graduates for positions as CNC machine operators, inspectors, and tool and dies apprentices, and gives graduates the opportunity to earn better than average pay with full benefits and a better future.”
