Democrat Dan Fox won Tuesday's special election in Stamford to replace former state Rep. Carlo Leone in the General Assembly's 148th House District. Leone was elected to the state Senate from the 27th district in February.

Fox is a civil litigation attorney at the Stamford-based firm Curtis, Brinckerhoff and Barrett. While he is not related to current state Rep. Gerald Fox III (D-146), Dan Fox is the son of a former state representative, John Wayne Fox, who served in the legislature for 24 years.

All seats in the House and Senate now are filled. Democrats control the Senate 22-14 and have a 99-52 majority in the House.
