Today is the "Super Tuesday" of 10 states voting in the GOP presidential primary, but Connecticut's Republican day of choosing is still seven weeks away--Tuesday, April 24.

Secretary of the State Denise Merrill says that no additional Republican presidential candidates sought primary petitions from her office before last Friday's deadline to do so.

Therefore, candidates on the the GOP primary ballot on April 24 will be Mitt Romney, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.

Registered Republicans in Connecticut will be able to participate in the primary. Unaffiliated voters have until Monday, April 23 to affiliate with the GOP if they want to cast a primary ballot.

Thurday, April 19 is the mail-in deadline for new voters, and for unaffiliated voters to enroll in the party in order to vote in the primary.
