Manufacturers from across Connecticut gave lawmakers a firsthand look at the stunning breadth and variety of products and services this state provides.
It’s a timely show, too, as legislators continue to debate several issues that could make it a lot harder for manufacturers to compete, succeed and grow jobs in Connecticut.
During the morning session, Catherine Smith, Commissioner of the state Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) told Connecticut manufacturers that manufacturing is a “very important component of our strategic efforts to grow the economy here.”
The DECD chief wants to improve the way the agency does business in order bring more jobs—particularly manufacturing jobs—to Connecticut.
