The state’s new Commission on Enhancing Agency Outcomes had its first meeting this week to discuss an agenda for the next four months. The group hopes to tackle some big-picture items, in a very short span of time.

The commission’s mission is to identify functional overlaps and other redundancies among state agencies and to help streamline and reorganize state government, promoting greater efficiency and accountability in state government. It will also seek ways to reduce costs to the state and enhance the quality and accessibility of state services, all of which can help the state produce a balanced budget.
