Glastonbury-based accounting firms MahoneySabol and Giamalis and Company have merged, effective Jan. 15 2024.

Company officials say the move is part of a commitment to enhance service offerings and expand its regional presence.

With the merger, Giamalis and Company’s nine accountants and staff join MahoneySabol’s roster of more than 60 accountants and administrative support staff.

Expanding Capabilities

“This strategic merger aligns with our vision of expanding our capabilities and delivering exceptional value to our clients,” said MahoneySabol CPA and partner Michael Sabol.

“Giamalis and Company has a stellar reputation, and we are excited to welcome their team into our organization,” added MahoneySabol CPA and managing partner James Mahoney.

Giamalis and Company primarily serves clients in the real estate, automotive dealership and construction industries.

Michael Sabol, Stephen Giamalis, and James Mahoney.

“We feel that a larger organization will allow us to provide a wider array of services and greater depth to our clients,” said former Giamalis and Company principal Stephen Giamalis.

With the merger, Giamalis became a partner at MahoneySabol.

The combined firm will operate as MahoneySabol & Company, LLP offering services including tax planning, audit and assurance, and business advisory.
