Representatives from more than two dozen Connecticut companies will showcase their products at the Paris Air Show beginning June 19.

The trade show, known as the largest event dedicated to aviation and the space industry, features more than 2,400 aerospace and defense companies from 49 countries.

Gov. Ned Lamont and other state leaders will also attend as part of a business recruitment mission.

“The aerospace industry is an important part of Connecticut’s employer base, supporting thousands of jobs and contributing billions to our economy,” Lamont said in a statement

“Our goal is to get more products that are made in Connecticut out into the world, and to get more of the world doing business in Connecticut.”

It is part of a federal STEP grant that supports small companies in their quest for international clients.

“Connecticut has more than five times the national concentration of aerospace product and parts manufacturing jobs, so supporting our existing companies is another important part of the work we are doing here,” DECD commissioner Alexandra Daum said.
