Labisch will be responsible for North American production, sales, and service and strategy and business operations at U.S. in Connecticut, California, Illinois and Michigan.

He will also oversee operations in Mexico, Canada, and Brazil.

“Whether our customers are small family-owned job shops or multinational companies, we are dedicated to serving them all with a wide product portfolio ranging from affordable entry-level machines to fully integrated and automated Smart Factory solutions,” Labisch said in a statement

Labisch helped develop the commercial foundations for the company’s Smart Factory strategy, key to rebuilding facilities at its North American headquarters in Farmington after a tragic plane crash last year.

Labisch has spent the last six years with TRUMPF and brings nearly 20 years of machine tool industry experience.

“Lutz Labisch is strategically, an exceptionally adept manager who has proven his great expertise in previous management functions in the finance department of the holding company in Germany and at TRUMPF’s North American subsidiary,” TRUMPF Group CEO Nicola Leibinger-Kammueller said.

Leibinger-Kammueller praised Hoecklin, who steps down after 18 years with the company, the last eight as president and CEO.
