CBIA today announced that Philip Vogel, president of CBIA Service Corp., will retire June 30, 2017.

Ken Comeau, senior vice president of CBIA Service Corp., will succeed Vogel as president effective July 1, 2017.

CBIA Service Corp. manages the state's leading private healthcare exchange for small businesses and provides other services to member companies.

Vogel joined CBIA Service Corp. in 1987 as senior vice president. He spearheaded the development of CBIA Health Connections in 1995 to provide health insurance solutions for Connecticut small businesses.

"Phil’s leadership and expertise will be greatly missed," said Joe Brennan, CBIA president and CEO.

"As part of the group that created Health Connections, he helped build an exceptional product for small business owners and it continues to be one of the most successful private exchanges in the country.

Comeau joined CBIA Service Corp. in 1990 as director of product development and was later named vice president of sales, products, and services. In 2014, he was promoted to senior vice president.

Comeau will be responsible for all products and services offered through the CBIA Service Corp., including: Health Connections, one of the nation’s leading health insurance programs for small businesses; life, disability, dental, vision, and other ancillary insurance products; energy aggregation and procurement services; several discount purchasing programs; and additional value-added employer services.
