Connecticut Business & Industry Association economist Pete Gioia said today's release of the state's January employment report showed improvement, but noted the effects of the recession still linger.
"We've only recovered 52,600 jobs that we lost during the recession," Gioia said. "And that's a recovery rate of only 43%. So despite the good news in this latest report, we still have a long way to go."[Gioa's comments; MP3 file]
