State Budget Director Ben Barnes, Legislative Leaders, Economists Discuss Future of State's Economy at Annual Business Event

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston president and CEO Eric S. Rosengren is the keynote speaker at the 2012 Economic Summit and Outlook January 6 in Hartford.

University of Connecticut president Susan Herbst will give the opening address, focusing on the university's critical role in the state's economic development.

Rosengren will discuss the economic and financial outlook for the U.S. economy before an expected crowd of about 500 business executives at the Hartford Marriot Downtown.

Governor Dannel Malloy's budget director, Ben Barnes, and Craig Miner (R-Litchfield), the ranking member of the General Assembly's Appropriations Committee, will lead a panel on state economic and fiscal issues.

And Webster Bank economist Nicholas Perna will discuss the 2012 economic outlook for Connecticut.
