Dr. Mun Choi, University of Connecticut provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs, will speak as part of a panel discussion at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association's (CBIA) 199th Annual Meeting & Reception on Thursday, October 30 at the Marriott Hartford Downtown. The program begins at 5 pm.
James Torgerson, president and chief executive officer of UIL Holdings Corp. and chairman of CBIA's Board of Directors, will moderate the panel discussion.
Joining Choi on the panel includes Dr. Cato Laurencin, Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, UConn; Deborah Dorcemus, Biomedical Engineering PhD candidate, UConn; Rachel Winsor, Biomedical Engineering senior, UConn; Stephen Escedy, Materials Science and Engineering senior, UConn.
The meeting will include exhibits by entrepreneurial companies that started at UConn including Natural Polymer Devices, Macroscopic Solutions, Dura Biotech, Smpl Bio, and Voda.
Attendees will also learn more about CT20x17, the statewide campaign that's rallying policymakers, business leaders, voters, and community organizations to make Connecticut a top 20 state for business by 2017.
