Allied Printing Acquires XL Color
Manchester-based Allied Printing has acquired Bloomfield printing company XL Color Corporation.
Allied is a 74-year-old commercial printing and direct mail business.
The company works with clients in the financial, healthcare, education, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, automotive, biotechnology, travel & leisure and retail sectors.
XL Color specializes in printing extra large visual displays, including billboards, building wraps, lawn signs, murals, and backdrops.
Allied officials say they built a strong partnership with XL Color through 15 years of collaboration.
Expanding Capabilities
Allied said the move expands its capacity to produce retail point-of-purchase materials, trade show signage, event banners, and more.
“Allied has a rich history of expanding our capabilities and services to meet the needs of our customers and the marketplace overall,” said Allied president and owner John Sommers, Jr.
“The next step in Allied’s growth is here and now: expanding our capacity and capabilities in the ‘digital wide format’ space with our addition of XL Color is something we are very excited about.”
All former XL Color personnel, capabilities, and equipment have transitioned to Allied Printing Services’ Manchester manufacturing headquarters.
“What makes this even more meaningful to me personally is the ‘people aspect,’” said Sommers.
“By purchasing XL Color and bringing their talent to Allied Printing Services, our customers will benefit greatly from the synergies of shared values, exceptional people, and faster speed to market.”
