Thomaston Savings Employees Give $45K to United Way
Generosity is alive among Thomaston Savings Bank employees this year.
Bank officials said employees donated more than $45,000 to United Way’s annual workplace campaign in 2022.
“I am so proud of our employees coming together for a wonderful cause,” Thomaston Savings Bank president and CEO Stephen Lewis said.
“They have done an outstanding job giving back to our community year after year.”
The amount of money employees have given to United Way in the past few years has grown significantly.
Employees gave $4,000 more than last year, and $14,000 more than the previous year.
Lewis said there was a 92% participation rate across the various branches and departments that serve western Connecticut.
The donation to United Way will support the nonprofit organization’s mission of providing basic human needs, financial stability, and education to individuals across the state.
Bank assistant vice president and community outreach officer Cheryl Lindstrom said the campaign extends beyond the money raised because it helps connect employees with their community.
“It is wonderful to be a member of such a giving group who provides not only financial support but also lends their personal time for the greater good,” she said.
“The results of this year’s campaign speak to the character of our team and the culture of the bank.”
