Connecticut Democracy Center Opens Award Applications
The Connecticut Democracy Center is looking to recognize leaders who are committed to strengthening democracy through acts of citizenship, service, and community engagement.
The organization is accepting nominations for Connecticut business leaders, community leaders, and philanthropists who have exemplified a commitment to civic engagement.
The leaders will be recognized at the Connecticut Democracy Center Awards celebration March 13.
This is the second year the organization is hosting the awards.
The organization was founded in 1998. Since then, it has offered programs that provide people with roles to take civic action in their communities.
For students, the organization runs programs like Kid Governor and Connecticut History Day. It also hosts exhibits, workshops, and events to bring people together.
