Connecticut’s Department of Revenue Services this week launched a program to help business and individual taxpayers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and subject to current DRS collections matters.

Any taxpayer subject to bank warrants, wage executions, liens, or payment plans can use the agency’s Priority One program.

Those paying previous tax liabilities through a payment plan—or who are under an existing wage garnishment—can take advantage of the program as terms may be revised to align with current financial circumstances.

DRS also announced that existing requests for offers-of-compromise can be reevaluated during this time and all field collection efforts—as well as collection hearings—are been suspended for the time being.

For more information, email DRS or call the Priority One hotline at 860.541.7650.

DRS has also extended the deadlines for most Connecticut state tax returns until July 15, 2020.
