Eric Gjede to Lead Government Affairs at CBIA
Eric Gjede will lead public policy and legislative efforts as vice president, government affairs for the state’s largest business organization, it was announced today.
“We’re pleased to have Eric bring his experience and expertise to this new role,” said CBIA president and CEO Joe Brennan.
In leading CBIA’s government affairs department, Gjede will also have responsibility for the association’s grassroots operations.
“I’m honored to have this opportunity,” Gjede said.
“I’ve enjoyed getting to know our members, hearing their stories, and sharing them with legislators. Together, with my colleagues, I know we can do more to help companies of all sizes across the state.”
Gjede has served as counsel and assistant counsel at CBIA for the last five years, representing the business community on a variety of issues including state taxes, labor and employment, and transportation.
He also directs CBIA’s Labor and Employment Law Council and helps administer the organization’s tax council.
Gjede serves as an appointed member of the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Employment Security Advisory Board. He also serves on the Second Injury Fund Advisory Board.
Gjede is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Association of Connecticut Lobbyists.
