Nolan, who took over the reins at the utility company in May, will address the future of energy, including the latest on the company’s joint offshore wind venture with Danish company Ørsted.

That project promises to deliver hundreds jobs—particularly in the eastern part of the state, with New London acting as a staging area—economic growth, and enough electricity to power 350,000 homes.

CBIA will also release the results of its annual survey of Connecticut businesses, produced in collaboration with Marcum LLP, featuring critical insights into the state’s economy.

Marcum Hartford office managing partner Michael Brooder will moderate a discussion on the survey’s findings with iCleanse CEO Chris Allen, Beacon Health Options chief administrative officer Carrie Bourdon, and Freeman Companies president and CEO Rohan Freeman.

And four state municipal leaders—West Hartford mayor Shari Cantor, Torrington mayor Elinor Carbone, Stratford mayor Laura Hoydick, and Groton mayor Keith Hedrick—will discuss how they are supporting small businesses and helping rebuild Connecticut’s Main Streets.

The conference is CBIA’s first in-person event since March, 2020, and includes a live streaming option.

The Connecticut Economy conference is made possible through the generous support of Marcum LLP with additional support from Eversource Energy, Liberty Bank, People’s United Bank, Wells Fargo, and Windsor Federal Savings.
