Each month, we profile a Connecticut small business, showcasing the ingenuity and innovation driving the state’s economy. For November, we spoke with SecureTek Solutions managing partner Javon Overstreet. The company is located in Glastonbury. 


When was your company founded?

2010.

How many employees work for your company?

Eight.

Who are your customers?

Manufacturing, engineering, architecture, and construction companies.

What makes your company unique?

We’re a boutique firm that has the ability to create strong pipelines of talent in specific industries.

What is a fun fact about your business or its history?

We all enjoy playing golf. 

Why did you choose Connecticut?

All of the key members of our firm were born and raised in Connecticut. 

What is the greatest advantage to operating in Connecticut?

Connecticut gives us access to top talent generated from the Knowledge Corridor. 

How do you try to give back to your community? 

Many of our members coach youth sports teams, and we also donate to various youth programs. 

Where do you see your company in five years? Ten years?

We are hoping to double the size of our firm in five years. 

What is the main thing policymakers could implement to make your company more competitive?

There could be more incentives to keep major employers in the state of Connecticut.
