Webster Bank Commits $100K to Waterbury Nonprofits

Webster Bank is committing $100,000 in grants to support seven different nonprofit organizations in Waterbury.
The bank was founded in Waterbury in 1935, and the company said the grant funding only deepens its support for the community.
Bank officials joined city leaders June 28 at Brass City Harvest to present a check to the nonprofits [pictured above].
The grants are designed to help the nonprofits with capital to immediately expand their community programming and outreach.
Community Support
The recipients are:
- Brass City Harvest
- Bridge to Success
- North End Cooperative Market
- The Waterbury Opportunity Industrialization Center
- The RIBA Aspira Career Academy
- Ungroup Society
- The Waterbury Land Bank
All of the organizations receiving grants demonstrated needs to help them address issues including workforce training and placement, housing, childcare and empowering children, community engagement, and food security.

Webster said the nonprofits also represent diverse missions and long-standing commitments to the greater Waterbury Community.
“We are delighted to see an infusion of funds to assist these seven nonprofits with some immediate needs,” said Waterbury Mayor Paul Pernerewski Jr.
