The CBIA Foundation is highlighting Manufacturing Month with a unique bus tour to raise awareness about the vital role manufacturing plays in our economy and communities.

From Oct. 14-18, the foundation’s 2024 Manufacturing Tour will journey across Connecticut, visiting 20 of the state’s leading manufacturing organizations, education institutions, and training facilities.

“The importance of the manufacturing industry in Connecticut cannot be understated,” said CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima.

“This tour is an opportunity to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the sector’s contributions to economic development and job creation and showcase some of the state’s top manufacturing facilities.”

On Monday, October 14, manufacturers and key industry stakeholders will hold a news conference during the stop at Mott Corporation to highlight the tour and the state of manufacturing in Connecticut.

The news conference begins at 1:30 pm after a tour of Mott’s new state-of-the-art facility at 1690 New Britain Ave, Farmington.

Speakers include:

  • Chris DiPentima, president and CEO, CBIA
  • Paul Lavoie, chief manufacturing officer, Connecticut Office of Manufacturing
  • Beatriz Gutierrez, president and CEO, CONNSTEP
  • Representatives from Mott Corporation will also be available for media interviews

“This new facility will continue to position Mott as a leader in clean energy development, and add to Connecticut’s strength as a home of innovation and manufacturing,” said Mott president Boris Levin.

The 2024 Manufacturing Tour was made possible through the generous support of the Connecticut Office of Manufacturing, CONNSTEP, Connecticut State Community College, Vancord, and Marcum, with additional support from Mercer, Mott Corporation, USI FutureComp, Fascia’s Chocolates, Niagara, and Severance Foods.

“This is a fantastic example of the collaboration and partnerships that exist in Connecticut’s manufacturing sector,” said Lavoie.

“Connecticut manufacturers make some of the most sophisticated products in the world, thanks to the best workforce in the world, and this tour showcases the talent, skill, and technology that make up this incredible industry.”

“This bus tour is a great way to show Connecticut residents the diversity of our state’s manufacturing sector,” Gutierrez said.

“CONNSTEP is excited to travel the state during this beautiful time of year, highlighting the incredible people and products that make Connecticut thrive.”
