CBIA president and CEO Joe Brennan released the following statement today as the Connecticut state legislature’s Appropriations and Finance committees completed their work on the state budget.
“The General Assembly has to send a message to job creators that the legislature is serious about fixing our problems, and creating sustainable long-term economic growth.
“Connecticut’s economy needs a boost that can only be achieved through a fundamental change in direction in how lawmakers budget. This means taking a long-term view and focusing on structural changes to how the state delivers core services.
“These are difficult but solvable challenges. Only with sustainable reforms will businesses and individuals find the confidence that Connecticut is headed on the right path.
“Yesterday’s spending package falls short of the reform Connecticut needs to grow jobs.
“While we understand this is a first step, we have to see more aggressive action.”
