New Website Connects Connecticut Employers, College Students
A new website is simplifying the in-state hiring process by connecting job seekers educated and trained at Connecticut’s community colleges with local employers.
Launched by College Central Network, Inc., the Connecticut Community Colleges Jobs Consortium site opens the door to more than 50,000 undergraduates.
Connecticut employers who are small, large, public, or private, can search for job-ready talent through this free resource and post an unlimited number of jobs to college students and alumni.
This is a useful resource for employers that are hiring in today’s climate, especially following the May jobs report—where the state recovered just 10% of COVID-19 job losses.
Employers can reach tens of thousands of job seekers from eight community colleges, including Capital Community College, Housatonic Community College, Manchester Community College, Middlesex Community College, Naugatuck Valley Community College, Quinebaug Valley Community College, Three Rivers Community College, and Tunxis Community College.
Hiring Needs
According to Joy Miller, CCN’s career services central national sales manager, “Connecticut’s community colleges are well positioned to help their state’s economy rebound fast and to quickly fill the state’s hiring needs in an era of rapid economic and technological change.
“Many employers post jobs at the closest community colleges,” Miller said.
“But, with the consortium, employers can easily extend their reach. Posting just once, they can go statewide or target a specific combination of regional Connecticut community colleges.”
With the added complications of closed campuses and remote learning due to COVID-19, CCN is committed to helping employers “hire local so they can create stronger communities.”
“This service goes far beyond the colleges,” she said. “We are thrilled to service employers who then go on to service the economy in their region or state.”
