New Video Series Inspires Next Generation Manufacturers
The future of Connecticut’s manufacturing industry depends on a consistent pipeline of skilled employees.
However, growing demand and a wave of retirements means that manufacturers will need tens of thousands of skilled workers in the coming years.
To help address this need, Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network and CBIA announce Making the Future, a new video series premiering Monday, April 16 on CPTV between 7:30-8 pm.
The first episode follows Lucas Lampognana, a tool and die apprentice at Connecticut Spring and Stamping, as he talks about what it’s like to be a part of the state’s high-tech workforce.
The series encourages high school students, and by extension their parents and educators, to see themselves in exciting manufacturing careers and the lifestyles they provide.
In the following months, viewers will see and hear from a diverse group of industry young professionals, sparking a personal connection that goes beyond a traditional testimonial piece.
The three-minute short video stories will also be available online and distributed via social media.
CBIA is the founding sponsor of this project. Additional support is provided by TRUMPF, The Arthur G. Russell Company, and the MetroHartford Alliance.
