Naugatuck Valley Community College is partnering with College Central Network to connect students with local, regional, and statewide jobs.

The Connecticut Community Colleges Jobs Consortium will connect employers with job seekers from NVCC and nine other statewide community colleges for free.

The program comes as the state faces a surge in job openings and employers continue to struggle to find skilled workers to fill crucial roles.

“This is an extraordinarily useful resource for employers hiring in today’s highly competitive labor market,” said Antony Wormack, director at NVCC’s Center for Job Placement.

“The Connecticut Community Colleges Jobs Consortium makes it easy for employers across Connecticut to extend their recruiting to all corners of the state.”

‘Home-Grown’

Once registered, job seekers receive a personalized daily job alert curated to fit their individual career path.

Joy Miller, CCN’s national sales manager, said the program “allows employers to easily recruit home-grown, entry-level talent by removing as many barriers as possible for a simpler, more efficient hiring experience.”

Wormack said NVCC students are in a position to stand out to employers, saying the school “offers quality affordable education and training in response to evolving community needs by providing opportunities to individuals and organizations to develop their potential.

“Our students, alumni, and community residents all can view and apply to job opportunities from employers specifically seeking local and in-state Connecticut talent.”
