On March 20, Gov. Ned Lamont signed Executive Order No. 7H, directing all non-essential functions in Connecticut to suspend in-person operations beginning Monday, March 23 at 8 pm.
NOTE: This order was later extended to May 20. While many nonessential businesses are permitted to reopen May 20 with restrictions, the governor May 18 extended the shutdown order for other employers, including bars, gyms, and cinemas until June 20.
Businesses are strongly encouraged to employ work-from-home or other telecommuting procedures.
The Lamont administration released a list of essential businesses March 22 that are not subject to the order.
Companies not included on the essential list can apply for a waiver, although employers are urged to closely review the list prior to considering a waiver application.Executive-Order-No-7H
