As the state’s regional Workforce Investment Board in North Central Connecticut, Capital Workforce Partners coordinates programs and initiatives to develop a skilled, educated and vital workforce.
The Board of Regents for Higher Education governs Connecticut State Colleges and Universities–four state universities; 12 community colleges; and Charter Oak State College.

ReadyCT is the K-12 education affiliate of CBIA. Working together, CBIA and ReadyCT support programs that bring business, civic and education leaders together to advance career-connected learning for students. A key focus is work-based learning opportunities in high-demand industries including advanced manufacturing, engineering, and information technology. Emphasis is placed on recruiting underrepresented students (girls and students of color) to explore these exciting fields.
The largest United Way in Connecticut—and the second largest in New England—engages people to improve lives and change community conditions, bringing together diverse stakeholders around a vision of creating positive change to achieve long-lasting results for children and families.
