Work Forward: Pathways for Growth

Released in April 2025, Work Forward: Pathways for Growth represents the Governor’s Workforce Council‘s updated strategic plan—featuring a set of recommendations focused on setting a coordinated, statewide strategy for building an equitable, inclusive, and innovative workforce that meets the needs of the current economic environment and has the ability to adapt to the needs of the future.

The Office of Workforce Strategy is charged with implementing the plan, which outlines the strategies Connecticut is implementing to leverage our most powerful asset: our people.

Unlocking the potential of every person is key to maximizing workforce participation across all demographics. We do this by coming together—supporting workers as they build skills through education and training, and collaborating with employers to support training, job quality, and skills-first hiring.

The result is a state where all community members have a purpose, a passion, and a pathway to contribute to a thriving community
